Background: We are, Rich, a retired Deputy Sheriff and Paula, a banker from Colorado. This was our 28th cruise all but 2 being with RCCL. On 12-09-06 we flew from Denver to Houston and were shuttled to Galveston. We stayed that night at The Tremont House which is located just off the Strand. We've stayed there in the past, but this time we were assigned an exterior room which we found to be much larger than the interior ones. The hotel was nice although a bit pricey. That night we walked to one of the many nearby seafood restaurants, the food was good the portions large, overall on a par with Red Lobster.

The next morning we were taken to the Cruise Terminal where check in was a breeze, having experience with this process is extremely helpful and having all documentation ready is a must. We found our cabin without problems, it was a balcony on deck 7, amidships, starboard side, everything was in order with wine I had ordered and a fruit basket from Crown an Anchor. We received another fruit basket later in the cruise and gave it to the cabin attendant. The cabin attendant did an excellent job all week and always had a smile and a warm greeting. The ship was in good shape, we've sailed on the Rhapsody a number of times and found her to be as clean and well kept as any ship we've been on. The Rhapsody's passengers also seem better behaved than other ships; I think it has something to do with the high percentage of Texans. Our dining room table was as we had requested, starboard side, by the windows and near the doors. Our table mates were all in our age category and were interesting and easy to interact with. Our waiter and his assistant were entertaining, the service and food were excellent. On the second evening we received an invitation to dinner at the Captains table on Thursday, we accepted. On Thursday we along with three other couples were escorted to the Captain's table for dinner. The Captain was not there, but the Hotel Manager was our host, he was very entertaining and cordial.

The menu was the same as the rest of the dining room, but with wine and impeccable service. We each received a group photo and souvenir menu signed by the host. We're not much into deck activities, so most of our free time was spent in the Schooner Bar playing cards and with the Trivia contests. The nightly shows were good with Sha Na Na's Bowser as the headliner. We always find the entertainment good and the only problem is finding a seat, so we always arrive early.
