Embarkation started of terrible: We had to wait for two hours after checking in in the terminal. We did not get ANY information about the reason. Apparently there was a problem with Customs? And we were the lucky ones inside the terminal building (even though there weren't enough seats...), because other people were standing in line OUTside the whole time. No food, no drinks, nothing! When we finally did board we still did not get any information.... The drill was supposed to be at 15.15 but not even one announcement was made about when it was going to happen. When the drill finally started at 17.15 (sailing time was supposed to be 16.00 but nobody knew when the new time was...) the staff we were with (in La Cuccina) treated it as a joke (not paying attention, giggling etc)
Finally at 18.00 there was an announcement from the captain. But he did not apologize for the delay (nobody did!) and he told us tat we would sail at 19.00. It would have been so much better if we would have gotten ANY information and apologies.
The whole ship needs an upgrade, it is all old stuff and the public restrooms are terrible: some not working and most not clean! The furniture is old and scruffy, carpet is old and the ship could do with some paint.
The cabin is small but ok, the cabin stewards do a good job. This can not be said about other staff.....
We did experience the all the speciality restaurants. The Bistro was not really good, but the others were, especially the Steak House and the Teppanyaki.
Inside the ship it was really (too) cold, fortunately you can turn up the heat in your cabin....
The music on the whole ship is too loud: the band at the pool, the music in the Stardust Theater and the Spinnaker Lounge, everywhere.... We are not all old deaf people! Entertainment is ok but not good.
On the day before disembarkation we were told that when you needed to adjust something on your bill you could come 24/7 as long as it was a creditcard payment. So I stood in line for a long time to find out that this was not possible after 22.00. WHY tell me 24/7????? The person at guest services is apparently not qualified to adjust anything, not her fault but a person with the right authorization should be there! No manager to be seen! The next morning we experienced the same and we had to wait again for a long time: again no manager to be seen.
Then we did the freestyle disembarkation: what a disappointment again! We were queued inside and outside all around the ship with our luggage and it took us TWO hours standing in line before we were outside the terminal.
We have sailed with other companies before and Norwegian is our worst experience: never again! And we were not the only ones complaining......
