Having sailed the Med on various itineraries before, we knew how busy and hectic this itinerary would be. And having been to all of the ports except Marseilles, I spent quite a bit of time looking for alternate, different excursions that would make each destination new in some way. We were blessed with lovely weather throughout most of the trip with sun and temperatures in the 70's- well above what we had packed for.

We flew into Venice a day early and drove down to Bologna about an hour and a half south of the Venice airport. Having never been there before we thoroughly enjoyed our 24 hours there. The city is the crown jewel of food for Italy, we had the best gelato ever across from the Due Torre along with a wonderful dinner and lunch.

The overnight in Venice on the cruise was perfect as it allowed us to walk and walk on the first night, and get up again the following morning and explore a different area of Venice before sailing at 2pm. Embarkation was easy as we arrived late in the afternoon. The people mover is a convenient way to get to the ship from Piazza Roma.

Cabin Review

Excellent cabin location. Quiet and very, very convenient. A small amount of ambient noise that was wonderful as we didn't hear voices in the hallway or hear our neighbors.
