Having previously cruised with Princess and RCI, we decided to step up to Celebrity and were certainly not disappointed. Embarkation was well organised and being greeted by officers as we boarded was a treat. Although other ships are very well presented, Eclipse is modern and very stylish, with special features, such as the living tree in the centre of the elevator area. With the elevators being in the centre of the ship, we found it easy to find our bearings and way around the various parts of the ship. Although we chose an inside cabin, it was large with ample room for everything we brought with us. The bar at the back of deck fifteen was an outstanding place to enjoy a relaxing drink under the stars, with friendly and entertaining barmen. The entertainment was good, with a selection of shows to choose from. The only criticism was that show times at 7pm and 9pm did not fit well with our dining arrangements. However, this did not impede the overall enjoyment of the cruise. I have never seen any entertainment director work as hard as Sue Denning! She was out and about at every port and around the ship day and night. She also provided a one woman show with laughter and singing that we thought was the best show of the two weeks. Every member of the crew, from stateroom attendant to waiters/waitresses, to maintenance staff, to captain and officers were very friendly and always happy to say 'hello' and make you feel welcome. Oh, and before I forget, the food was fantastic!!!!!
Now we have sampled Celebrity five star treatment, we are looking forward to organising our next Celebrity cruise.
