We just returned from the Thanksgiving week sailing on the Liberty!! What a blast! Liberty continues to be my favorite ship. Platinum Embarkation was a breeze and we were in our stateroom before noon to drop off our carry on's and head to Lido for a DOD and lunch. DH had the customary Guy's Burger while I enjoyed the fish, pasta and yummy eggplant dish from the buffet. After lunch, we headed back to the cabin, unpacked our carry on's and headed out to the 'secret' deck in front of our cabin 6203. After a few pics, we went inside to find our luggage delivered which allowed us to unpack and organize our room just in time for safety drill. After the drill we found our way to Lido for a great sail away party and gorgeous sunset.

Our cabin is smaller with no sofa or chair, only a stool for the dressing area. We finally saw our cabin steward on day 3 when we went looking for him to ask for soap. We had no bar soap for the sink the first 2 days of the cruise and had to use the shower soap when washing our hands. Also, fell between the mattresses often as there was nothing to hold them together. This is the first time we have ever noticed this. It was especially difficult during certain 'romantic' moments. Otherwise the cabin was kept very clean and neat.

Josh is one of the top 3 cruise directors IMHO. There was never any lack of activities. There were 4 different comedians for a total of 16 different comedy shows during the week. I have heard some pretty lame comedians on Carnival but all 4 of these were hilarious. The shows in the lounge were OK...the best thing about them was the show band - awesome musicians. The dancers were just ok, many times they were not in sync. The featured soloists, girl and guy, were excellent. Their voices were well matched which does not always happen on Carnival. However, the sound person was not polished at all. There were missed cues, soloists not brought up in front, etc. We never do the Carnival Legends Show or any of the Karaoke. We work with plenty of amateur musicians in our everyday life...not interested in hearing them on a cruise. We did enjoy a movie under the stars one evening - the first time we had ever done that and really enjoyed it. The only real disappointment was the Piano Bar. We usually spend a lot of time in the piano bar and have enjoyed some excellent entertainers. Our favs were Ben and another guy, whose name I don't recall, but had everyone in the bar turn to anyone who walked to the door and greet them with "Holy S***T, look who's here". He was a riot. Unfortunately, there was rarely more than 1-3 people in the bar any night we went by and we spent about 10 minutes there the entire cruise. The good news, our bar tab was significantly lower this time. :)

Cabin Review

This cabin has no sofa or chair, only a stool in front of the vanity. It is small but has ample closet space. It was a window overlooking the 'secret' deck in front of the ship. We book these cabins for their value and DH loves to spend time on the deck coming and going from ports. However, if you are going to spend much time in your cabin, you will feel cramped. Also, if you have trouble with motion sickness, this is not the cabin for you. You WILL feel the motion of the ship, sometimes a lot. Also, if the seas are rough, you will be kept awake by the LOUD crashing of the waves against the hull and the creaking and groaning of the ship. If these things don't bother you, you are a real sailor and would most likely enjoy this room! :)
