Our cruise ship was massive and it was hard to believe that we were on a ship once inside with everything that's on the ship. We would walk over 10,000 steps almost every day while on the ship which was a good way to balance out all the delicious food that was served during our stay. The buffet was also a great place to have a meal and it will be hard for someone to get tired of the food. We also didn't feel that we had to try the specialty restaurants during our cruise because we had plenty of selection with the buffet & dining room. We did end up purchasing a beverage package and we just shared it throughout our cruise. We also shared a wine package between the four of us (5 wines) and enjoyed some wine with our dinner some nights. Our favorite wine from the cruise was a Moscato (white wine).
Throughout our whole cruise with Royal Caribbean there was excellent customer service from our stateroom attendant to our waiters in the dining room. Having our dinner at 5:30 pm was a good time for us as it helped us have a good meal while being able to walk around the ship after or catch a show at night without being in a hurry. It was also a good time with less wait when taking the professional pictures during the formal nights.
I attended a Port Shopping guide presentation the day before we arrived at St. Thomas, we found it very helpful and informative. It also helped us find some good places to shop at port that's guaranteed by the cruise, get free items and additional discounts. We got some good pieces during our trip. :)
For our ports, we enjoyed a beach day at Coco Cay, we did get to see a lot of different types of fish at this beach, we had a shopping day at St. Thomas and fully enjoyed our excursion at St. Maarten. The excursion company that you recommended was great, our tour guide provided outstanding customer service and we were lucky enough to be the only ones on this tour so we were able to take full advantage of the tour. We enjoyed driving the motorboats, we didn't get to see as much fish while snorkeling but it was still a fun experience for us.
For the most part during our cruise we enjoyed nice, warm, sunny weather and calm seas. I believe there was only one rainy day and it was while we were at St. Maarten but that didn't affect us in any way. Also, we didn't get sea sick, there was only one night that the waves were a little rougher but gravol and fresh air on the deck helped a lot. My friend also used her sea band for motion sickness throughout our trip and she said that it also helped with not being sea sick.
Arriving the day before our trip is definitely the way to go as we had plenty of time to check-in at port and walk around the ship before all the guests arrived. Staying a few days after our cruise also helped us since we had something else to look forward to after our cruise.
Overall a memorable experience and we can't wait to go on our next cruise in the future. :)
