Liberty was great. Some work needed though

Sail Date: November 2013
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Got a flight from Toronto to Ft. Lauderdale the morning of the cruise and got to the port at 11:15am. Check in was no problem but then we had to wait in the sitting area till almost 1pm before they let anyone board. Once on the ship all was good. We went to the Windjammer for a bite to eat and then walked around a bit to show our 5 yr old all the stuff we could do.

Went to our rooms around 3 and were happy our bags were already there! We changed and hit the pool area. My daughter loved the kids pool and hot tubs. She went to the aquanauts kids club almost everyday for a bit (not always our choice, she asked to go) she had a great time! The kids club employees were great and knew her by name after the 2nd day. We had the 6pm dinner time so we could do the kids pick up for dinner. This was great as we order her food right when we sit down and the waiter brings it out to her in 15 mins and she finishes her dinner and at 6:45 we take her to the 4th floor dining room for the kids More club to pick her up and take her up to the kids club and we adults get a nice relaxing dinner to ourselves! They only do this for the 6pm dinner time dining. All of this is included and they can stay in the kids club till 10pm for free and if you want they charge for any time after 10pm.

The first day at sea was fine, a little crowded but lots of loungers on the top deck. When we got to Belize we had to tender in and what a fiasco! Lines were long and I mean long to get off the ship. People were getting restless! Took over an hour to get off the ship from the time they started tendering and we were close to the front. I heard horror stories about 2 and 2 and a half hours to get off the ship.

Next stop was Cozumel and what a difference! We docked and it was no problem getting off. We just walked around time and did some shopping. Last day was the same as the first day at sea. Only difference was it was very choppy and windy. Doesn't bother us but you were swaying a bit. Looked like everyone was drunk walking at times. Haha

Back at port before the 7am time and we had decided to do self check out as our flight was at 10:45am. They said customs should have the ship cleared by 7:45 so we went down to wait at 7:15 and we are glad we did. The line up was already long and by 7:45 it was wrapped around the studio and up to the 4th floor from the 3rd. It was total chaos! It was like the employees had never done this before. We finally got off around 8:30am but the line for self checkout was nothing I have ever seen before. Not sure if it was because it was the U.S thanksgiving or not but wow! They really need to improve these few things.

Couple quick other points of the cruise. Dinner in the dining room were good. Breakfast in the dining room was better than the windjammer and we also did the Character breakfast that my daughter loved. She got to take pics and hug the characters. We tried to make reservations for the character breakfast but guest services said we didn't need to. So we went the first morning and got in no problem. The last day at sea we went again and they said we needed reservations. We sat in the dining room for breakfast but asked again about being moved to the characters and they did move us. All of the staff we spoke to were very nice and helpful.

All in all we had a great time and are looking forward to our next cruise on the Adventure of the Seas in Feb! Less
