About us…we are a retired couple in our mid-sixties, this is our 22nd cruise together. Besides Carnival, we have cruised on Holland America, Princess and NCL. Mostly we go back and forth between NCL and Carnival, using our points from credit cards. We either get a nice deposit towards the cruise or a nice bit of OBC. I said retired, actually post-retirement we decided to workcamp for about 5 months out of the year in our fifth wheel in Pocono Mountains in PA. The rest of the year we are now located in NE GA, the foothills of the mountains. We travel in our fifth wheel from there during the winter to points south, either FL or TX. This cruise made me platinum. DH shares my platinum benefits, of course. On our next cruise he will get his own platinum status.

This review goes day by day, kind of like a diary. I kept up with it daily so I wouldn’t forget anything.

We left NE GA the day before embarkation at 6 a.m. With rest breaks and a breakfast stop the 8 hour drive took us about 10 hours. Breakfast was at a Cracker Barrel outside of Macon. It’s been a few years since we’ve been in a CB, and maybe it’s just this CB, but the quality we were used to didn’t seem to be the same.
