We just came back from a 7 day cruise to the Virgin Islands on the Royal Princess. Aside from the " love boat horn"& a good "service "crew the cruise was a huge disappointment! We were promised luxury on a brand new ship. Warning there is nothing luxurious about this ship! The balcony rooms are the smallest we have ever had on 20 + cruises, with cheapest decor.
The elevators are a nightmare! Be prepared to do lots of stair climbing, if you can find the stairs, there are none mid ship! Ridiculous, a brand new ship! The halls are so narrow a wheelchair & service cart can't share the same space, which means more stress waiting 8 or 9 times for carts to be moved.
The buffet is a confused mess. It's so big, but most of it is closed! The pastry shop is a joke, no whole cakes, cut up pieces of more of the same as the buffet. The sushi bar never opened. Where was the seafood, we never saw it. Overall all the food, including the dinning room wasn't memorable.
The entertainment crew were so disinterested in the passengers. No live band in the tiny one level theater, no place to put a drink. One real show, with taped music, ugh!
Because of bad weather they cancelled CoCo Cay. We had gone there on the Emerald Princess cruise & it was great. The back up plan was Turks, it was a horror. Carnival had a ship there already so it was so crowded, try to get a lounge chair. Of course there was no live band, no barbecue .
Another big disappointment!
