We are retired and we did the river cruise Amsterdam to Budapest, and with many quality sea cruises under our belts (Cunard, P &O, Princess etc) we were amazed at the quality of service. We have never before been on a ship where we could not find one passenger who had anything but praise for the ship, the crew, the food and facilities. Must be a record.

When faced with the possibility of being slowed right down in Germany due to a lock keepers strike, the Captain and Cruise Director Roland (who never seemed to sleep) rescheduled everything so that without in any way affecting our ports of call and excursions the ship could speed up and get out of Germany the night before the strike with a complete rearrangement of coach trips which sometimes had four busses arriving at a river bank miles from anywhere to rendezvous with the ship.

By the way, on another cruise we would choose a cruise purely on the basis that Roland was the cruise director, so good was this guy!

Cabin Review

Despite having no balcony like most of the cabins, and the water line a foot below our windowsill, we were very happy with our cabin and particularly the price on this expensive cruise.Balcony cabins can often be one metre away from another on an adjoining ship, as they often raft up together- we felt we had more privacy.
