This was a booking for a rock-n-roll show. This cruise featured The Four Tops,Bill Medley,Paul Revere and the Raiders, and Andy Kim.  The shows were great.  Our ship was the Carnival Triumph.  We booked stateroom 6432 on the upper deck. Our first problem was our flight down to Miami.  We had booked American Eagle out of Memphis Tn.  We arrived in plenty of time and our flight was early am hours, so no trouble with security.  We awaited boarding and an announcement was made that the flight had been overbooked and five people would not be getting on this flight. My wife and I said at that time, we were getting on this flight no matter what,we were headed to Miami for a cruise and no one was getting in the way.  It was nearly time for boarding and another announcement was made since there were no volunteers the last five bookings would not be getting on the flight, these were called out and we boarded. We arrived in Miami and found our bags easily.  Then we found our Carnival representative and soon boarded a bus. We arrived at the port of Miami and started the boarding process. I noticed a number of buses and people everywhere.  I told my wife it appeared everyone on the cruise had arrived at the port at one time.  We had gone on line and used the carnival fun pass and the lines were not too long and seemed to breeze though quickly.  Once we boarded the ship, this is when the trouble started. As i said it appeared everyone on the cruise arrived at the same time and we could not get to our rooms until 300pm, everyone was directed to the lido deck for lunch. The lines were way too long, it was hot,and everyone was tired.  I know the carnival staff was overwhelmed by this crowd at one time, but i saw no direction from the carnival staff and no help.  We finally got a cheeseburger and got into our room. We booked stateroom 6432, as it appeared to be larger than the other 8-a rooms. Once inside we were so surprised.  The room was very large, with a queen size bed, more than enough closet space, and a very large balcony.  Needless to say we were happy. We had the late dining, due to the concerts on board, and our dining staff was the best. We had only been on one cruise before this, and our head waiter was the greatest.  I was not too fond of the menu choices, but the food was good.

Our first stop was Cozumel Mexico.  We had been here before and my wife had all the information from our cruise director for the best shops and deals.  Believe me, Cozumel can not be beaten for shopping and deals.  The best part of shopping is all stores will serve you tequila free! Our next stop was Grand Cayman.  The weather was bad and our shore excursion was canceled so we just shopped again. Our last stop was Jamaica.  This was the best. We had also been here before and saw a new excursion called the Bambo Beach Club.  This was great, just a short walk from the pier. We had people waiting on us hand and foot all day, with food and drinks,we also had a beach bed with canopy and just a yard or two from the ocean, all for $39.00 each, it was great.

As i said our cruise was an oldies rock-n-roll show and as your are on the ocean with these music stars and they have no where else to go you run into them all the time. They are only too happy to give autographs and pictures. We have enjoyed carnival twice now and we believe we most likely only cruise on carnival, if and when we go again.
