Sail Date: Oct 2013

We, my wife and I just completed a 10 day cruise on the Caribbean Princess, sailing from New York and docking in Houston Tx. My comments on the Caribbean Princes are not as glowing as other reviews. I found the condition of the ship to be dated and worn. Carpets were showing wear, there were places where the wall paper was hanging loose, woodwork showed gouges from staff running carts into it, the exterior of the ship was not much better, lots of rust expecially around the hole where the anchor was stored. The library is a joke and the reading room is a rumor. The dining room (palm) was a comedy of errors, our waitress was late the first night, and kept trying to apologize all evening, she even got down on her knees begging to be forgiven. We were given the wrong menus twice, wrong soup delivered, the waitress kept asking if she was forgiven this was for 3/4 days, quite embaressing. The ship staff was somewhat cool, that goes along with the cold feeling overall. The captian could hardly be understood over the PA system. Now the good. Our cabin steward was excellent as was the casino staff. If we had been first time cruisers we would probably not sail with princess again. We will not sail on the Caribbean Princess again.
