Ratings 1 - 5
Food: 1 - Buffet was poor to say the least. Very few options, crowded, hot food cold, soggy, or both.
3 - Dining Room food was average. Mostly tiny portions. Nothing was ever served hot. Steakhouse was average, not worth the up charge.
Cabin: 3 - Pretty standard as cruises go. Our particular cabin steward was lazy - rarely cleared away empty soda cans or used glasses. Never vacuumed the floor once.
Entertainment: 2 - Limited onboard activities. DJ and most live entertainment were awful. Questioned
whether they even auditioned the entertainment. Band at the martini bar was
excellent. All else was awful.
Casino: 2.5 - Pretty standard - smoking side and non-smoking side. Hard to find $0.25 slots - most were either $1 and up or $0.01. Bar service at the casino was very slow.
"Cheers" Package: 0.5 - This is the drink program. Limited to 15 alcoholic drinks per day. In itself, not bad, however....if you hit your 15, they will not sell you another drink, even if you are willing to pay full price. Here's the catch - if you hit 14 and tell them you want to buy the next 3 drinks outright, for example, they will do so willingly. If you don't have the Cheers package, you can buy 50 drinks and they don't care. Doesn't make much sense. Can also only buy one every 5 minutes, so if you wanted to buy a bucket of beer to share with friends, forget about it.
Cheers Package (continued): 1 - Includes soda, which you can only get at the bars. And get this - it's all in cans, they don't even have soda taps. And they don't even give you the whole can! Just fill a glass and mix from multiple open cans whenever you get one!
Staff: 3 - Some were very nice and fun. Most of the bartenders were crabby and unfriendly. Not what I am used to from other Cruise lines.
Overall: 2 - All I can say is we will never sail on Carnival again. Take that how you want.
