This was our first time sailing with Celebrity. Previous cruises were on Royal Caribbean. Our stateroom was not kept clean. I don't think the toilet seat was ever touched. We received excellent service in the dining room from our head waiter Osman and waiter Singh. The rest of the staff on the ship were not helpful and some even rude.
As far as entertainment expect to have an overwhelming number of comics and little else. A nice experience was the cooking shows put on by the chefs. This was very popular and needed to be done in a larger room because many people had to stand and some couldn't get in. Expect a long wait in the bars to get served.
The food in the main dinning room was very disappointing little variety and only average. The caesar salad had no taste. The steaks were subpar. One pasta dish was inedible. Presentation was nice. The food in the cafe never varied from one day to the next. Many of the pastries were not fresh. Bistro on Five was an exception to More
the poor food. They served crepes and pan- inis which were very good.
The shore excursions were all about selling souvenirs which were made in the Far East. Never stopped anywhere that sold or displayed anything about the local people. The cruise had 8 days at sea in a row. This we knew ahead of time but strongly recommend that this be broken up.
The worst part of this cruise was disembarkation. They shut down one whole bank of elevators. We waited 25 minutes before an elevator had room to get on. We will not be traveling on Celebrity again. We were surprised by how this cruise line compared to Royal Caribbean since they are owned by the same company and we always have had excellent cruises on Royal Caribbean. What saved the trip was the wonderful passengers we met. Less
