My mother, who is 83 y/o, my sister and I wanted mom to experience a nice cruise for her first time. My sister has cruised with Carnival 5 times. we felt confident and safe that the Triumph would be great because it had (we thought) been remodeled from its disaster. The very deck we were on was the one that was damaged the most. Silly us thought that it would be all nice and new. We upgraded from an inside room to an outside room with a window. We had not been in our room 5 minutes when I called customer relations to let them know our window was so dirty we could not see out of it. Why have a view, if you can't see anything. A lady from customer service came to our room and told us that our window would be cleaned when we got to Progresso, because Galveston would not let them clean windows at their dock. Our shower was rusted all around the top (from what I do not want to know). Our sink had a big chip out of it. And our window NEVER did get cleaned.

the best part of the entire cruise was the Dining Room in the evenings. Our headwaiter, Danesh and his helper Imade, were the highlight of every day. There wasn't anything to do if you were not a drinker, or gambler. Of which none of us were. The Lido lounge where there was a buffet set up, never changed choices...if you didn't like chicken strips (as a meat choice) you were just out of luck.

I will go back to the Royal Caribbean and continue my cruising life, Never Ever again on Carnival. So disappointing. They state they are the # 1 fleet in cruise lines, they need to visit some others and take notes. My mom fell and had to stay in our room for a couple of days. No problem, we thought, we will just order room service. Her only choice was a cold bagle with cream cheese, or a cold sandwich with a bag of chips. Disgusting for a ship that thinks they are #1 in the fleet. Super nice meals in the dining room, but woe unto the person who can't leave the room. Did I say I would NEVER, EVER, SAIL ON CARNIVAL AGAIN.

Cabin Review

The steward that took care of our cabin were superb. They tried to attend to our every need. Our room was kept done up. rusty edge around the top of the shower. Chunk out of the sink in the bathroom. extremely dirty window, could not see or take pics from it.
