As first time cruisers, my husband, my brother in-law, sister-in-law and myself were full of great anticipation. For the most part we were not disappointed. We started off leaving Arizona the day before the cruise to avoid any weather or travel delays getting to Tampa. We stayed at the SpringHill Suites Tampa Westshore, the rooms were nice, but the complimentary breakfast of frozen powdered eggs left something to be desired. The front desk clerk helped us with a ride to the Port for a minimal charge. Upon arrival at the Port we booked a return ride to airport for the last day of the cruise, which turned out great. We just looked for our van that was waiting for us and off we went to the airport.

The Port staff were friendly and we waited just a few minutes in line to check in, then boarded the ship. We went to the Lido deck for some lunch, buffet style. The buffet stations were not in a line, they were set sort of in a center square, which I found inconvenient. If you wanted to try something from each station your first choice would be cold by the time you sit down. The food was OK, however we found the pizza station to be great, the pizza's were made fresh 24-7. After lunch we took a couple of hours to explore the ship, so we would know where everything was located. When we got back to our cabin we explored the amenities of the stateroom and spent some time on the balcony as we pulled away from the Tampa port. It was not far from port when we spotted some dolphins, we considered this to be a good omen for a great trip to come.

Our room was roomier than I had envisioned it to be. It was quite comfortable for the 2 of us, plenty of closet and drawer space. Dinner the first night was casual, since luggage was still being delivered to cabins. We were assigned a booth for the 4 of us and our waiters, Jerome and Jaya, made dining a pleasure for the week. They were very attentive. They new our habits within the first two days, my husband would have ice tea plain and mine would have lemon. For the most part our dinners were very good. One night my sister-in-law tried an entree` she ended up not liking and was immediately offered another selection, and on another night I found 2 appetizers that I wanted and was able to get both. We did not discover that the wait staff entertained until the 3rd night, we were always leaving the dining room before they performed to go get pictures or look for them or something. When we discovered their fun talents we stayed and joined in the dance number. We did notice the dining room did not enforce the dress code as expected, so take that as good or bad to your liking.
