We're a 60 year old couple on our fifth cruise, third with Princess. This is our first trip to the Mexican Riviera, previously cruising Panama Canal and the Caribbean routes.

Embark: We had the Princess transfer both ways. Airport baggage area to ship terminal was about an hour, and 45 min later we were in our cabin. Could have been quicker, but traffic was slow and we seemed to arrive at the terminal with the masses. Our luggage showed up at the room 3 hours after boarding.

Ship & Stateroom: The Diamond is less than 3 yrs old. We rarely felt crowded with 2600 other passengers and found ourselves referring to the deck layout guide well into the cruise. The public areas always appeared clean. Side-to-side roll of the ship was noticeable the first 24 hours, but calmer thereafter. There were cool breezes on the outside decks on the first & last days at sea. Our cabin showed a little normal wear & tear but was what we expected. Our steward (Kusol) was excellent. Rarely saw him, but the cabin was always spotless and he kept us supplied with bottled water and sodas per our wishes. We had the standard balcony, just big enough for 2 chairs & small table. Deck 9 & 10 rooms cantilever out and have larger balconies, but can be viewed from above.
