This was my third cruise on the Vision of the Seas and my second to the Mexican Riviera. I was traveling with my Mom, Aunt and cousin. The embarkation and debarkation went very smoothly and efficiently as my cousin needed assistance as did my mother. My cousin had a handicapped room and her only complaint was the closet was so tiny. For two people there was not enough room to hang any clothes and there was not enough drawer space either. However, there appeared to be enough space for her to maneuver around. In my cabin, we had trouble with the heating and shower. The heater would not work and the shower stopped in mid stream. Our cabin steward did help in getting those things fixed and the rest of the cruise they worked, although the shower could have worked better. I have been on cruises where the shower worked with better pressure. I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the lounge areas. This was the first time I have cruised on Royal Caribbean when it appeared there was not enough staff to keep the lounge areas clean. Tables were consistently cluttered with glasses and paper coffee cups from Lattitudes and servers were no where to be seen. This really bothered me, as I always told friends how attentive and clean Royal Caribbean is. I noticed the difference immediately as I took the same cruise last year at this time with my family. So sad. This trip I went to all the trivia games, scrapbooking and two Bingo Games. All were fun. I would recommend that trivia not be in the Schooner Lounge as the smoking section permeates throughout the area and is very disturbing to nonsmokers, especially those using oxygen and others with severe or mild breathing problems. The shows were excellent as were the Chanukah services. The Rabbi was wonderful. I enjoyed all his services. The Karaoke was fun too. I went to see the Acupuncturist and I sat in the Solarium. It would be nice if the rules were enforced about children not being allowed in there. With 600 children on board, there really was no place to escape from them. There really should be an adult only place to relax. I thought that is what the solarium is for. All in all I enjoyed the cruise. These are just a few things that I noticed. My next cruise is on the Legend of the Seas leaving out of Barcelona in June. I'll let you all know about that one.
