This was our third cruise. The first was with HAL and the second was NCL. Overall, the ship, the staff, the ports and the entertainment were very good. The food was surprisingly mediocre and repetitive. As we rank food as one of the reasons for cruising, we won't be cruising with Princess again.
We arrived in Ft. Lauderdale the day prior and stayed at the Sleep Inn. It's nothing fancy, but with free shuttle from the airport and to the cruise port, you can't be it for value. So we were at the cruise terminal by 11:30am and onboard by Noon. Our inside cabin was at the very back of the ship so we had a bit of a walk wherever we went, but it's good exercise.
The first two sea days had 8-12 ft swells and strong winds at times. A large number of the passengers were sick and even I purchased a few packets of Dramamine from the onboard shops.
