We travelled to FLL the 2 days prior to our cruise. Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Air/Seaport on SR84. Very clean, but front desk service could have been better. Did not have any blankets to use on the sofa bed in our room(ran out of them!)so that was inconvenient for the person in our party who had to sleep on it. Probably would not stay there again, area was OK, but not our preferred area. Arrived at cruise port by taxi at 10:30, waited in line for 5 minutes and were inside the building and checking in shortly after that. Had a "trainee" processing our documents, so it did take awhile (but we all have to learn sometime!). Were on the ship by 11:00! The ship is beautiful, felt like we were coming home(had been on RCCL the last 2 cruises). Our cabin adjoined 5129 (the other travellers in our group)and this was very convenient. Ari our cabin steward, we hardly saw him, but the cabins were always in tip top shape. Had table 202, main-late sitting. Our table stewards were incredibly (Yanuar, especially). Walter, the wine steward(and an incredible singer)was also fantastic. Food was delicious every evening(had 2 of apps, entrees and deserts on several occasion!) and the service was wonderful. The casino staff were very friendly(Donna and Christopher) and we enjoyed the time we spent there. Entertainment was quite good, Alfreda is an incredible singer. Half Moon Cay-very beautiful, St. Maarten-loved it, Tortola-OK, Grand Turk-too commercial-was hoping for something a bit more "natural".
Had quite rough seas a couple of days, many folks sea sick, lots of stuff rolling around cabin if not secure, pool water was quite something to see(especially on chocolate extravaganza night in the lido pool area!)it splashing from side to side. Took natural gravel and was just fine. Had an evacuation at sea by helicopter for an ill passenger as well.
Ate in the Lido a few times, it was very good, but could be a bit crowded at times. Overall had a wonderful time, did not want to get off the ship as usual!
