A Thanksgiving cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas. Our 5th time on this fine ship. We headed for Galveston a day early, toured the Johnson Space Center on the way. Our group was my wife Suzan, myself, our son and his son (age 7). Ryan and Konnor has a deck 4 outside cabin.
Embarkation: RCI and Galveston have this down cold! We use EX Cruise for parking and book via the Internet, saving $5.00. They are quick efficient and close! We checked in at 11:25 am and walked on at 11:30am. Did the mandatory stuff: Checked out Dining table. Made Suzan's Spa appointments, got Ryan and Konnor acclimated to the ship then headed to the Windjammer for a bite to eat. I personally hate buffets. If I wanted to do a buffet, I could stop at a Luby's of Furr's for food kept warm on a steam table. Buffets, in my opinion, have become the feeding trough on cruise ships. Quantity of how much food one can pile on a plate is far more important than taste or selection.
Crew: This ship has an amazing impact on the crew. Without exception, the crew was smiling, efficient, helpful and every other positive word you might want to add!
