We (Myself, Husband, Son & his girlfriend, Daughter & her boyfriend)just returned from the Caribbean Princess 11/19 - 11/26 sailing to the E. Caribbean. We drove to Port from Montgomery, AL and arrived about 11 a.m. Dropped our bags with porters and were in line with #6 to embark by 11:20. Processing started at noon and we were on aboard by 12:30 at the latest. Myself and my husband were on the Lido Deck, cabin L214 - balcony and son, daughter, etc. on the Baja deck Cabins 721/729. We all processed in the Lido deck line with no problem. Princess definitely has the embarking/disembarking down to a GREAT science. We've been on Carnival, Costa, Norwegian, RCCL and Princess is - by far - the best with the embarking, etc. process. Love it. Disembarking - we chose self-disembark - and again, was very organized. You have to register to disembark and they issue you a number (we had 5). We at breakfast in the buffet area at 6:30 - returned to our rooms , collected our million bags and we were off the ship and on the road by 8 am. Sad, of course, but the process was good :) First sea day - cloudy, rainy but that allowed us to explore the ship, etc. I thought I would not like MUTS, but ended up loving it. I did not find it loud - at all. In fact, one day in the afternoon while watching Grease, I could hardly hear it. It was alot of fun - at night, also. Food was very good to excellent. Sterlings was to die for. I enjoyed that the service was fast in Sterlings, also. In and out in an hour. Must do. Buffet was fine - dining room food, very good. We had anytime dining in the Palm Dining room and had different servers each night. They were all very good. The seafood buffet was awesome. I don't think my husband will ever stop talking about it. We only did the one on the first sea day (cold one) - didn't to the seafood buffet (warm) on Tuesday as we went to formal dinner in the dining room. Tuesday - GREAT weather - just enjoyed the ship, activities and ate too much :) Wednesday - St. Martin - Did the 12 meter American cup sailing - WHAT FUN! Was alot of work, though. We chose the active participation - great activity to do on the island! Thursday - St. Thomas - Kids went scuba diving independently - had a blast. We went to Turtle Cove to snorkel. Awesome - saw plenty of sea turtles, etc. Highly recommended. Friday - Enjoyed the ship and recovered :) Saturday - Princess Cay - did the banana boat - that was a blast. If you sit in the front - lots of spray in your face :) Enjoyed the island - lovely. BBQ - very good. Sunday - Boo hoo - disembark, but like I said - a GREAT system. We did think the shows were a bit lacking. They had two good "Princess" song/dance shows and a great hypnotist. The others were not so good. We, personally, thought Kimika was awful. Ewww This is a GREAT ship. We've been on the Golden Princess and thoroughly enjoyed that ship, also. Loved the MUTS. We, definitely, prefer Princess. Food is just ...better - Room Steward was great - MUTS, fun - We LOVE anytime dining. Just really love Princess cruiseline. There is NO DOUBT we'll be back - would love to sail Caribbean Princess again - just wish they'd have a different itinerary. We've been Eastern and Western several times. But, if necessary, we'll go again! Any questions, would love to answer and/or help! GREAT SHIP, GREAT CREW!!!
