BACKGROUND INFORMATION First time cruisers!!!! Traveled with a party 8 - family and friends, all adults - no kids!

SHIP INFO What a magnificent vessel!!! To say we were impressed and bowled over is not enough. Being first time cruisers, we didn't know what to expect but knew being in the Alaskan waters would insure calm sailing. Many times we had to look out the windows to see the passing scenery to even be aware we were moving. We did find that we did a lot of walking to get anywhere on board. It took a good 2 days to get a comfortable feel for the ship's layout and we NEVER left the room without our pocket guide. Our standard phrase: "You can't get there from here."

ACTIVITIES We mostly walked the ship and did more walking at each port of call. I did take in the scrapbook class and the lecture from the Iditarod trainer. The shopping on board was okay - wait until Friday to buy anything! Good sales. We got the Princess Patter each night outlining the next day's activities. So there is plenty to do. However, the one fault I found here was that it would state when the activity started, where it was located, but not how long it was! So planning was a bit hard. And then there was the scenery!!! And this is what Alaska is all about. Make time to just sit and watch it go by.
