The Liberty was a fun ship and we had a great time. The food was excellent and the service was very good as well. We ate all our dinners in the Golden Olympian and our waiter Francisco was outstanding. We used the any time dining option but we mentioned to the maitre'd we loved Francisco and he arranged for our table for 10 to be kept for us in Francisco's area. It really makes for a great cruise when you have excellent service. The food on the Liberty was very, very good. On the Lido deck, Guy's burgers and fries were outstanding the best I've ever had on a cruise ship.
We had 6 under the age of 18 on board and we thought at times the entertainment to be PG or PG13, beware this isn't a great ship for kids there's little by way of entertainment for them. If you have kids choose a newer Carnival ship, it will be more fun for them.
The Western Caribbean ports on this cruise were nice. We didn't care for Mahogany Bay. The Magic and Liberty were both in port that day and it was incredibly crowded, it wasn't fun at all. The beach here was man made and the water here murky with sand. There were bars and things to rent but all were expensive. Really Carnival should make this like other lines with their private islands but it isn't, so find an excursion if this port is on your itinerary. Overall this is a great older ship with a good crew, fun staff and excellent food, leave the kids home and enjoy it.
