Only a quick review , I read the reviews on the Pride of America on this site before going and was a little wary . so here are a few pointers that might help you along your way
lets start at the beginning , we went on a 7 day cruise Hawaii islands
embarkation was very quick and straight forward , only took about 20 mins in total , we got on-board about 12.30 in the afternoon , you have to wait till about 2pm before you can go to your cabin , so we just strolled around the ship looking at this and that
we had an inside cabin , but with the islands being so beautiful you may want a outside one. the cabin was nice , bed very comfortable , you had a 115 volt and 230 volt shaver socket in the was room part of room , one thing is they don't let you bring an iron on board , they will scan you case and take it off of you till you disembark on the last day , but you can get one bought to your cabin , you have to order one , its free but you will only get about 2 hours till they pick it up again , there's a hair dryer in the cabin
on-board food in the buffet bar was very good and food was still nice and hot by the time you got to your table , I hate cold breakfasts .
the main free dining rooms need to be booked in advance . either use you room phone or go to reception on main deck 5 , there are TV's around the ship showing you what times are still available , easy enough so don't worry , the paid dining areas are the same as well ,
they show the main shows in the Hollywood theatre twice at 7pm and 9pm so you can time it which ever suits
the entertainment in the Hollywood theatre was very good on the whole , if you are younger than say 30 you might want to go to the pool deck for the disco type entertainment
the staff are very friendly and helpful about the ship , we found the photos a little expensive at $24.95 each
drinks were fairly priced for a cruise ship , cocktails at $7 and coke etc at $2 and were good portions sizes
the excursions offered were good , but seemed a bit overpriced you may want to do them yourself once on sure , but when going peak season be careful they might be sold out !
I really recommend the Atlantic sub , we went at Maui and you get to see a sunken ship , we saw a shark as well , but ncl charge I think $119 for this , yet on sure its about $50 if you do it yourself
another great fun one was mudbug get dirty , great fun , its not cheap but well worth it , only the driver pays when booking with ncl , so with 2 people its really half each , we did other trips they were all good and others told us the trips they went on were great as well , did not hear of any bad ones
as with anything in life things could have been a little better as always but to give a rating of 4 would be unkind to this great holiday and ship , me and my partner really enjoyed it so a great big fay 5 out of 5
