We had to tender into port as our ship was too big to dock. The tender was pleasant and the staff were great when we were getting off at the port. There were a few street vendors but there was no pressure to buy anything and the port itself was beautiful. We caught the train to Monaco and enjoyed half a day there, they were getting everything ready for an upcoming Formula 1 race.We then went back to Villefranche and enjoyed some time on the beach, including a paddle in the sea.

Villefranche

We took a train to Rome but the train station staff were not very friendly. In France there were multi lingual signs, but not in Italy.We had to stand on the train for the hour journey and then had to work out where to go in Rome. We spent all day just wondering about aimlessly and missed most of the tourist sights :( Will definitely be taking a tour if we are going to Rome again.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

After our disaster day in Rome (walking about ALL day and seeing nothing) we were quite pleased when we were approached getting off the shuttle bus by a group looking for 2 more people to join their itinerary. The 8 of us shared a taxi to Florence. We all split up and enjoyed Florence on our own, however I did not enjoy the 16 Euro price tag for 2 small ice creams....even though they were the BEST ice-creams EVER!We re-joined the group at a set time and place and went to Pisa. Our group was not initially interested in seeing Pisa. But we loved it, took all the goofy pictures of holding up the leaning tower but I also enjoyed taking pics of all the tourists from a different perspective holding up nothing.We were taken right the way back to the ship :)

Florence (Livorno)

Summary
Was an amazing experience, loved every minute and we are very thankful to all the hard working staff that allowed us to have such a great time.We booked the table day by day and there was only one occasion when we arrived and had to wait but we were given a buzzer so that we could go to the bar and wait there instead which was great.
