Great way to spend a weekend!
We went on this cruise with 2 other couples celebrating a few birthdays. Only 1 couple had been on it before and the rest of us had been on other big cruises (myself 15+ cruises, Royal Carib, Celebrity, Norwegian, Holland Am...etc). This is NOT comparable to those cruises(for the most part). We had an excellent rate (groupon). It is less than 20 minutes from our house to the Port of Palm Beach.
Our overall experience was very good. The ship is old & dated, not much of a pool. Decor worn but super clean. Staff well trained and friendly. There were a few snafus with dinner reservations....keep a copy if you book dining room online because there was lots of confusion trying to get the six of us the same dining time.....it was much nicer eating in the dining room both nights but you must book online in advance or they will put you in the buffet one night.
We had a wonderful and lucky time in the casino both nights! (Ended up making more than we spent on the whole More trip which is always nice!)
Our cabin was quite large but unfortunately I cannot recall the #...it was ocean view. We had friends in one of the tiniest inside cabins on the lowest deck and it was SMALL but who cares! They had some anchor/docking noise and a drug bust in the cabin next door but they took it all in stride and would go again in a heart beat.
The keys to having a good time are to set your expectations reasonably, don't pay too much and I would not recommend making an overly expensive or long trip just for this cruise. I would not touch one of the timeshare presentations with a 10 foot pole! Just look for a bargain price and book directly. If you can't deal with a few rough spots, this may not be a cruise for you.....I'm pretty spoiled but went with an open mind and had a great time! Less
