November 1st had been weird from the start with the shooting at LAX shutting down the airport for a good 5 hours! Thank God we just missed it and were on our way to Long Beach on the shuttle.
When we got there the signage wasn't too clear on where to go to register and get our cabin keys. BTW, it's in the Queen Mary ship! The staff were not too clear on the directions and a bunch of us (travelers) were at lost where to actually go. We had to walk all the way to Queen Mary and back to the dome entrance and waited a good three (3) hours plus in the sun to just be able to board the ship! The check in wasn't too organized and it left people irritated and dismayed at the process.
The cabin was neat and we found everything to our liking. There was a minor problem with the shower drain, but that got fixed quickly. Our room steward was very personable and very attentive! Never disappointed in the part of the service department. Room service was also very good and the food was on the spot!
The buffet was okay, not great. The soup, ice cream machine made it better.
The dining room service was okay until the last night when the waiters were quite rude. Seemed like we were in their way.
The pool was super cold, more like ice pond! But, my husband seemed to enjoy it! And the jacuzzi was simply wonderful! The shows were good too... especially the comedy acts!
Our trip on board was okay, could have been better.
