Embarkation was not the best, however this was not down to NCL, a combination or a customs inspection, full crew immigration checks and the environmental inspection all because it was the ships first port in the USA for a long down. This resulted in new crew not belong allowed aboard, no supplies were allowed aboard and passengers were also delayed. Then to top it all, the was a computer failure at check in which lasted almost an hour. This all caused huge delays and long lines, but really what could NCL do about it. Once aboard, things were noticeable slow and stations under staffed throughout the first day, our departure was delayed 4 hours to allow stores to be loaded and staff immigration to be completed.

Day 2, everything was back to normal, the market cafe was busy but our party of 4 always found seats, the food was hot and of a decent quality, it didn't have huge variety from day to day but there was a big selection to choose from. We ate in both main restaurants, and both were good, not exceptional but nothing to complain about. As always we paid and ate in every speciality restaurant, all are worth the extra money and none will disappoint, yes you need to pay, the the initial cruise price on a NCL cruise is lower than most others, so spend the saving here and you won't be disappointed.

Our ports of call, Cartagena was disappointing for me, I maybe just expected to much, it all went wrong on getting off the ship and having to take part in the battle of the taxi drivers, after 5 mins fighting our way past then we made it our of port to find a much more civilised taxi line and made our way into town. All the other ports were excellent, Costa Rica and 3 stops in Mexico .
