I would say this was our best cruise ever. The beauty of all of Hawaii is unforgettable.
POA boarding was a snap because we had a suite and bypassed the lines to a separate welcome area. Ship was very clean & modern, service staff were all very friendly, happy, & eager to please.
Penthouse Suite-Starboard; Room #10020. Large suite - worth the price.
However, I don't know that I would pay the up-charge again for any of the "specialty" restaurants; their service staffs were all excellent, just the food & selections for the extra price were not outstanding or particularly memorable (we ate at Jefferson Bistro, Cagney's, & the Italian restaurant). The "Liberty" & "Cadillac Diner" seemed just as good for free---check the menus; the first night in the "Liberty" is "Surf & Turf" (Steak & Lobster) which was very good. The Aloha Cafe for breakfast-made to order omelets or real fried eggs, and a great fruit selection (daily fresh pineapple, mango, melon, etc.), plus all the other breakfast foods.
Two ship shows we went to lasted about 45 minutes each and were enjoyable & entertaining; The Beatles and 4 Season's tributes.
Booked all daily excursions thru NCL. Enjoyed all of them, except the Thursday night Luau which wasn't really my kind of thing, but it was very popular with most others around us-fire dancing, loud drums, buffet under a tent.
In sum, wife & I didn't feel pressured to buy drinks or spend a lot of money on board. Ship was well run, our room, staff, & NCL sponsored excursions were very organized, with exceptionally nice operators. Small tips were in order, but not required. Food was overall very good, plentiful, and a wide variety. All Ports were all extremely enjoyable, and the only limitation is your budget. All in all - 4.5 Stars.
