My sister and I love Halloween on a cruise ship and the Victory was a good balcony bargain...so it worked out great for us. However, the Victory is definitely showing her age and is due for drydock soon. Hope they keep some of the finer things on this ship.....the seahorse stools and tables are wonderful and some of the tile paintings and stained glass sculptures are terrific.

We're not "food fussy" but the dining room menu was well below par. We always look forward to "lobster night" but both of our lobsters were just plain mushy as well as the shrimp that was served with them...both were frozen much too long. I ordered turkey dinner another night.....turkey cold cuts heated up....another meal I left and that was the end of our dining room experience on this particular ship. The best food venue was room service! Be sure to try the BLT sandwich....it had about a pound of bacon on it! Also loved the shrimp sandwich!

On the minus side, our cabin steward was the worst we've ever encountered! We had to track him down and beg for ice...this was on the 2nd day and we hadn't even met him yet. On every other cruise, the steward makes it a point to stop by on the first day and introduce himself...not this one. We had no problem with the other crew on this ship....very friendly and helpful. The very best thing about this cruise was the Halloween celebration and the costume contest. Well over 100 people dressed up in costumes and 30 were chosen for the contest.....it was terrific and made for great photos. We decorated our cabin door and left a bowl of candy for the kids. We'll always make it a point to cruise on Halloween but not on the Victory again.
