Fabulous cruise

Sail Date: October 2013
Destination: Canada & New England
Embarkation: Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

We left New Jersey late with delayed embarkation due to a thorough cleaning of the ship as the noro virus was on the previous cruise. The buffet was encased in Saran Wrap for days, salt and pepper shakers removed from tables, and the library closed until the last sea day. We were squirted with antiseptic gel at every doorway and the ship was antiseptic in every crevice. They cleansed it beautifully and very few got sick (to my knowledge.) Kudos to the captain and crew!

This was a spectacular trip for us. The food was heavenly. We loved every meal. The wait staff bent over into pretzels to make everyone happy. The Cruise Director was fabulous, going out of his way to meet nearly everyone. The shows were great, including terrific entertainers brought on board, and such talented production show performers. There were afternoon shows as well as evening shows on sea days. There was always something to see. We usually do not need Guest Relations to solve problems but we had an More issue with noise and shaking/rattling in our room at night and I could not sleep at all ( cabin 3132) and they moved us to a quiet spot. Bravo!

The ports were great. Portland was fogged in, but we saw lighthouses and strolled Kennebunkport with lobstah lunch (on our own during free time.)

Bar Harbor was going to be sightseeing in Acadia but the government shutdown ruined those plans. We strolled the town on our own and had lobstah rolls dockside. Yum. This time of year they are great. Close -out buys on clothing everywhere and we got sweatshirts very cheaply. They came in handy.

Quebec was the ultimate highlight. We walked all over the first day, and did a ship excursion to the Falls and countryside the next. There was only 30 minutes given to us to race to see the water. Very frustrating. Spent more time on the bus than off. Next time we will take a cab there.

Halifax is a great city with lots to see.

We ate in Qsine one night. Thought it was way overpriced, and the food not worth that much money. We wont do it again. The service and presentation was exceptional, but the food and service in the main dining room was fabulous.

We loved everything about this ship and voyage and booked it again for next year! Less
