We left New Jersey late with delayed embarkation due to a thorough cleaning of the ship as the noro virus was on the previous cruise. The buffet was encased in Saran Wrap for days, salt and pepper shakers removed from tables, and the library closed until the last sea day. We were squirted with antiseptic gel at every doorway and the ship was antiseptic in every crevice. They cleansed it beautifully and very few got sick (to my knowledge.) Kudos to the captain and crew!
This was a spectacular trip for us. The food was heavenly. We loved every meal. The wait staff bent over into pretzels to make everyone happy. The Cruise Director was fabulous, going out of his way to meet nearly everyone. The shows were great, including terrific entertainers brought on board, and such talented production show performers. There were afternoon shows as well as evening shows on sea days. There was always something to see. We usually do not need Guest Relations to solve problems but we had an issue with noise and shaking/rattling in our room at night and I could not sleep at all ( cabin 3132) and they moved us to a quiet spot. Bravo!
The ports were great. Portland was fogged in, but we saw lighthouses and strolled Kennebunkport with lobstah lunch (on our own during free time.)
Beware 3132 rattles and vibrates when the secondary engines kick into gear. The noise is loud and continuous and the vibrations from the engines go right through the pillow from the floor. We had to be moved. I would avoid this room and this entire area!
