Just returned from the last Mediterranean cruise on the NCL Epic before it's relocation to the Bahamas. This trip was to give NCL a last chance after a less than enjoyable experience in May on the NCL Jade, we used some compensation offered . We had decided not to use NCL again and we had first travelled on the then new Epic, also the NCL Sun which were excellent.
Trying again the Epic which we were originally pleased with has restored our confidence. The staff were helpful, friendly and always cheerful and willing to help, even remembering your names! The food was excellent even the Buffet unlike the awful food and greasy buffet on the Jade The trips were well organized in plentiful variety and escorted by very knowledgeable guides.
Entertainment was varied. " The Blue Man Troupe" was superb and ideally suited to multilingual audiences.
"Legends" was the usual "Club acts" not very talented but put into a well choreographed show. "Ancora" a Crossover singing quartet were excellent but were showcased in an unsuitable small and crowded venue, with over amplification. They should have been in the main theatre.
All in all a very enjoyable cruise, will stick with just the Epic with NCL , can't believe that two ships belonging to the same company could vary to such an extent in comfort, service, and quality.
Delightful tour. Avignon best place to buy Lavender. Extremely pretty place with some steps to the popes palace, but take it slowly it's well worth the visit as is Aix Provence. Just how you imagine France to be, very picture postcard. Lots of beautiful shops and cafes on the main boulevard a perfect end to the day.
A delight tour. Avignon is best place to buy Lavender products. Popes Palace has many steps up to it but well worth the effort. A delightful town easy to explore with many easy eating options
Having visited the Sorrento and Pompeii twice we were interested to see Herculaneum. Extremely interesting, more complete than Pompeii although much smaller. Excellent and knowledgeable guide. Highly recommended
