Breaking Away to Bermuda

Sail Date: September 2013
Destination: Bermuda
Embarkation: New York (Manhattan)

Embarkation went very smoothly. We continue to be amazed at how well NCL handles so many guests departing and arriving in such a short time period. Definitely a plus in our book!

We usually ate breakfast in Garden Cafe or Uptown Grill. Never had a problem finding a table and thought the food selection was quite good. Most evenings we ate in specialty restaurants(Le Bistro, La Cucina,

Cagney's, Moderno) since we purchased the pre-cruise 3 dinner package and received several vouchers as Platinum Latitude members. They were all excellent with regard to food and service, but we really enjoyed Moderno. Thanks to Alex and Lorna for making it such a special night!

Saw 3 shows: Burn the Floor, Rock of Ages, and Second City improv. Performances were entertaining and professionally done. While I understand the need to make reservations in advance, it seemed to take away from "freestyle" cruising since you had to plan ahead.

Had inside cabin(deck 10) and found More it interesting that entry to room was from an interior corridor. A little confusing at first but proved to be much quieter with less foot traffic. Storage was adequate with lots of little shelves and nooks placed around the room. Really liked the larger bathroom and flat screen Interactive TV. Cabin stewards were terrific and took excellent care of us. Loved all the towel creations each night.

The Waterfront was our favorite place and we loved the idea of outdoor dining while watching the beautiful sunsets. It was a great place to take a leisurely walk, to sit and chat, or to read. H2O was also a nice retreat during the day. I treated myself to a weekly pass to the Spa. Fell in love with the peaceful atmosphere with a spectacular view as well as the Salt Room, Sauna, and Hydrotherapy pool. Never crowded and very relaxing.

Very impressed to see Captain Hoyt and other senior officers on many occasions interacting with guests - even having hot dogs from the cart on the Waterfront. Seemed to set the tone for entire crew as we found them all to be very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely consider doing the Breakaway again. Less
