Bez's Transpacific Trip
Well, what can you say about French Polynesia?? The most beautiful azure/turquoise waters in the world. Bora Bora was exceptionally beautiful. Our trip started in Honolulu the day before departure. We stayed at the Ilikai Hotel, Waikiki beach. Gorgeous hotel with an inside/outside restaurant. People were extremely friendly and it was in a great location with a small lagoon out back. They were also filming Hawaii 5-0 behind the hotel.
Next day at noon, we boarded the luxurious M/S Celebrity Solstice. Breathtaking ship, to say the least. Check-in was a breeze due to the on-line check-in feature on Celebrity's website. Within 15 minutes we were on our way to our cabin. Due to us being there so early, our cabin was not ready. Since we didn't have our luggage with us, we headed to the top deck to the sunset bar for some "refreshments". LOL! It was all uphill from there. Since we had a drink package(classic), the drinks came and went very fast. Free pour is the way to go. Had to More ask the bartenders to lighten up on the rum...can you believe it??? The food on board is to die for. The specialty restaurants are worth every penny...buy the 5 dinner package!!
The amenities are quite impressive; the décor is stunning; staff are wonderful. Shouts out to Martin in the Grand Eperney and to Martin, the F & B manager. Also to my poker buddies Howard, Stefan(Austria), Greg(bayley), Bob, Paul and MJ(Patel)...it's Patrick. All in all, a spectacular cruise and I hated to leave. I highly recommend this cruise line and this cruise in particular. We have already booked a 14 nite exotic Caribbean cruise for December 2014 and can't wait to go.
