Ship Facts: MSC Preziosa Review (by Cruise Critic!)
Pleasantly surprised!!!

We have just returned from a Mediterranean Cruise with MSC on the new Preziosa ship.

We have previously sailed with Celebrity and Royal Caribbean, but after our last Celebrity cruise we were dissappointed with the cleanliness , food and the 'WOW' factor!! So thought we would venture and try a different cruise line..

The Preziosa certainly had the 'WOW' factor that you would expect of a cruise liner, sometimes a bit 'over the top', but why not!! The Italians know how to do it! The cabins were excellent, we had a balcony, everywhere on the ship was spotlessly clean, glistening..... The staircase with the swarovski crystals was fabulous, numerous bars, coffee bars etc., The evening entertainment was good, loved sitting in the atrium listening to the grand piano, violin players and singers, excellent!!

We found there to be a mixture of Italians, French, Germans, Croatians, Australians and of course English....of which there was never a problem, Don't forget..you are on the Med, everyone is entitled to cruise... We went out of season, so there were children on board but not an abundance, love my own grand children but don't want others on holiday!!

The food was very good, pasta and risotto's to die for. One evening we were talking to the Head Waiter who had once worked for Royal Caribbean, with regard to the pasta he stated that they make their own on board as to other cruise lines buying in ready made, we mentioned the fact that we hadn't had a steak, he explained that we wouldn't unless we went into the specialized restaurants, not a problem there was still a varied choice.

We purchased the All inclusive drinks package for £20 per day each (£23 if you do it on board). This was unbelievable!! The drinks, wine, cocktails etc were all premium brands, and served with a smile!!! Cappuccinos, the like I have never tasted before , bottled water to take off the ship on Port days, it really was well worth it!! Wine served with the evening meals was by the bottle (not by the glass as on Celebrity). Very good Italian wine.

The only down side I can find ...is that the Entertainment staff around the pool are very, very loud, could even hear them on our balcony! But Hey!!

All in all we had a fabulous cruise, and would definitely travel with MSC again, by the way the cruise was half the price that we normally pay on a Celebrity cruise!!! A further consideration, you are not allowed to tip the staff personally, I think they could be sacked if caught taking money, therefore there is none of the falseness that you find on other cruise lines, saying which we found the staff genuinely, very pleasant and cheerful!!
