This was our second cruise to Alaska but first on Holland America, as well as first time in a suite. Embarkation was a breeze. We ate all of our dinners in the MDR and service was efficient and the waiters were pleasant. The wine steward was very friendly as well. We ate breakfast in the Lido and enjoyed the variety of items. Since we were staying in a suite we also were able to utilize the Neptune lounge where on occasion I would get a cappucino or we would get a couple of snacks. We ate one night in the Pinnacle grill and it was fabulous. All four of us raved about the quality of food and service. We also enjoyed a special Indonesian lunch in the Pinnacle one afternoon and it was one of our favorite meals of the trip. This was the first time we tried the Italian restaurant and it was good and a nice change.

Staff were very friendly. Our cabin stewards would always say hello whenever we saw them. Several of the staff also would say hello when we would see them. The captain would make daily announcements about our destination and travel conditions.

We only saw two of the shows at night but they were good. We attended one of the "adult" game shows and it was a lot of fun. On the sea days we spent time going to Windows Live classes, reading, and participating in a variety of trivia contests. We didi go to the theater and watched a movie on three nights following our late seating dinner. The theater served popcorn and had comfy leather chairs.

Cabin Review

Our room was very large and was an aft port side with huge wraparound deck. The lay out of the room was very nice. The bed was comfortable with loads of pillows. The bathroom had both a jacuzzi tub and a separate shower. There were double sinks with a separate make up vanity outside of the bathroom itself. This was our first time staying in a suite and enjoyed the roominess.
