This was our 2nd cruise on Princess. Overall, we were very satisfied with the entire experience. Embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly at the Ft Lauderdale (Port Everglades) port.
We found the entire crew to be extremely helpful and friendly. Also, our fellow passengers were very pleasant and very few incidents of rudeness were witnessed. The average age appeared to be about 60/65.
Our group of 4 chose the Anytime Dining option and never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a private table when arriving around 7:30pm. Most evenings we were seated immediatedly. I found the menu to be very creative and most items were very good. Service was almost always excellent.
The port excursions, for the most part, were well organized. Getting off and on the ship usually went smoothly. I would highly recommend the Panama Canal excursion that takes you through the 2 additional locks to the Pacific Ocean. You will be on a smaller boat and able to view the transit much better.
There were a few minor problems that have to be mentioned. No deal-breakers, but still annoying. The excursion desk has the best change of causing a problem. All of our excusion tickets were delivered to our cabin on the 1st day. One ticket was missing in the envelope and it was very difficult to get it resolved using the Customer Service desk. They don't seem to have a good process to resolve problems when their normal process doesn't work. Unfortunately, the best way to rectify problems is to stand in line at the excursion desk. Very frustrating.
The other strange issue was the lack of cold water in the bathrooms. The ship seemed to be unable to cool the water down fast enough after purifying the ocean water. Therefore, all shower and sink temps ranged from scalding down to very warm. I never got a satisfactoy answer to the problem.
Aside from these minor issues, I would highly recommend this cruise.
