OK to start this was my 1st cruise so i have nothing to compare it to so i will be as open as possible.
This cruise was myself, wife, mother-in-law, and her friend.
Of all my travel experiences to date i think this process was one of the most efficient i have ever experienced. We opted to carry all of our own luggage on-board so we wouldn't have to wait around for our bags to arrive. The ship was quite full but but from the time i parked the truck to the time we were in our cabin was less than 1 hour. There was never any standing around waiting as everything went very smoothly. During the debarkation we used the blue cruise tags and were in the last group called down but that moved along quite quickly as well.
We had an interior cabin and were very satisfied with the amenities overall. It seemed like every time we left the room and returned the steward had come in and cleaned up the cabin. I never saw him/her the whole time but we could tell he/she was there. My only negative comment would be that there wasn't any way to make the room cooler, just a small vent that could be opened or closed. It did get a little warm in there at times.
Overall the food was above average but not exceptional in any aspect. I do understand that its a daunting task to feed so many people so i wont be too hard on the quality. The warm chocolate melting cake lived up to the hype and i ate it almost every day. The cheeses i had were very good as were many of the desserts. I did also appreciate the fact that in the main dining room you could order multiple item and nobody ever balked at ordering extra. The included beverages were nothing special at all. I would think as cheap as sodas are they should include them also but we took a few along so no big loss.
The wait staff:
In the main dining room it seemed as if the servers were somewhat understaffed. Our service was fine the 1st night and went downhill a bit every day. By the last day we were having to ask repeatedly for refills of water and never got offered bread even though tables all around us were. Our servers also never offered fresh ground pepper like we saw other servers or anything other than water to drink.
We did like how they gave a list of daily activities as it really helps plan your day. We did find though that since we are new cruisers there wasn't enough info in the handout so that we knew what the event was, just the name of the activity and time and location. Would have been better if there was some sort of master list we could look at to find out what things were. Also would have been nice to have a schedule for the entire trip at once to plan everything a little sooner. I understand things can change but it would be nice to know generally. The shows themselves were fun and entertaining especially the ones in the theater. Some of the smaller games in the bar area weren't run very well so that made them less fun.
Nassau we thought was nothing special. The deals in the straw market werent that great and we found the people to seem a little standoffish. Little stirrup cay we thought was great and would have rathered stayed in that port longer.
