This was the first time we had cruised with Princess and there were quite a few positive points. The crew were very friendly and helpful, the food in the restaurants was very good with a good selection every night with one exception see below. Due to the number of excursions we really needed another week to really explore the whole ship and make the most of what it offers. It is certainly very glitzy in all public areas.
However, as others have pointed out, the stateroom was quite cramped( to squash more in?) with very little seating space at all. The two chairs provided were of a different type - one an arm chair and one an office chair. They could have provided a settee for a more comfortable experience. Also there was evidence of "penny pinching". On previous cruises small items such as the use of the laundry have been complementary as were shuttle buses to ports of call and the shuttle boat to Venice. As some others have pointed out alternative tour options could have been publicised better. We found out about some whilst talking to guests over dinner. Just smacks of a company trying to squeeze as much money from clients as they can.
The buffet was OK but we thought some of the food on offer could have been presented better.
Overall we enjoyed the company we met during the cruise and those we spoke to (mostly from North America and Australia) seemed very happy with what they had paid for.
