Just got back today, everything went to plan at first, we booked the holiday 8 months prior to embarking, completed the check-in online via MSC's website, as to avoid waiting in the check-in line at Venice docks.
Well short story, the Check-in online was pointless, we had to line up and check-in anyways, so that was a waste of time and paper.
As soon as we got on the ship, we noticed that our rooms were wrong (mum & dads room at rear 10209, ours at 10034 the front) yes a family cruise split in half... and this is just the beginning.
After we noticed our rooms were wrong (supposed to be opposite each other 1 balcony 1 inside cabin) we noticed that our mum's and dad's main meal seating was on the first sitting and we were on the 2nd sitting.
So we tried to resolve this, and the staff members response was ''I'll try and get you together on one sitting". -You would think paying nearly £4,000 for a holiday you would expect to be on same sitting as your mum and dad?
Back to the rooms, we went to the reception to see if we can have our rooms next to each other (virgin holidays allocated our rooms next to each other 8 months prior to boarding the ship). All we got from the lady on the reception desk was ''you can just switch your cards around with your mum's and dad's card" well that would be fine if the cabins were next to each other! (oh me and me sister had the balcony and my mum and dad had inside cabin, which is supposed to be other way round!!). The reception staff didn't have a clue about the ship they were on, they had to get maps out as they didn't know were our cabins were.
In the end we got the cards sorted and the seating plan for the dining sorted..
Service charge - Tipping service - we requested it to be removed, it took us 3x to get it knocked off, last thing you want to do is tip MSC' for the mess-up they did to our entire holiday!
As we complained about that we then showed the reception staff our booking confirmation on the rooms we were supposed to have next to each other at end of the cruise, and their response was silence, I think they were more shocked at the mess-up than we were!
What's even more worse the reception staff turned around and said ''why didn't you complain about this as soon as you boarded'', which we did as you read above (couldn't complain anymore!). their response was ''oh its not logged down''... service cant even rate it, none of the staff have a clue (exception to the house-keeping staff and chefs 10/10)

****Clean pools, cabins, decks and rest of the ship
Saying that we were glad to see the back of this ship and its staff, and wont be recommending this to any of our fellow friends and family and many other people who read this!
P.S. might sound as if we moaned a lot but it was bloody good reason to specially when you pay £4,000 for a RELAXING Cruise...
