We set sail on 10/05/13 from Galveston. A lot of our impressions is based on the fact that we were in a Concierge Suite.
The check in could have been faster even though we were in the Concierge Line. The line for regular check in appeared to be extremely long.
Upon check in we boarded the ship and the ship is in great condition. The lunch buffet at Parrot Cay was full so they directed us elsewhere. We ultimately had lunch at Goofey's Galley and it was nice with Healthy Choices.
Our Concierge Rodrigo was great, but it would have been nice if there an area of the boat that only concierge guests had access to like on the bigger ships.
The one bedroom suite was great, it had two full bathrooms with showers plus a tub and a walk in closet. The Balcony was huge.
We had treats delivered daily, that was of average quality.
In terms of the food, this ship had one of the smallest buffets that I have ever seen. The food was of average quality but it was plentiful. This applies to the main dining rooms as well. There was always burgers, dogs and fries available. The burgers were rather tasty.
By far the best meal we had on the ship was at Palo's. We live in LA and visit Vegas regularly and have eaten a lot of great food. But Palo's was by the far the best meal we have had in a long time. Our waitress Anastascia was excellent in Palos. The dinner at Palos is definetly worth the up charge. We found the brunch at Palos to be good, but not as great as their dinner.
In terms of activities for the kids, it was great. My son spent a lot of time in the Mickey pool and they also have a splash pad if kids are in diapers.
With all the kids aboard, everyone was remarkably well behaved and there was little to no crying.
Debarkation was smooth and there were no lines.
As a tip, since sodas are free along with water on the 9th floor beverage station. I would recommend bringing cups with lids and a Carafe for water to bring back to the room. They provide smaller paper cups but it appears wasteful to use so many during a 7 day cruise.
