Although our cruise was shortened due to a mechanical issue, our time on the Royal Princess was incredible. I cannot say enough about the staff, they were personable, entertaining, knowledgable and had a complete understanding of what "customer service" is, and how service can make or break a persons vacation.
We made it our mission not to over- eat as it is easy to do on cruise ships. We ate a healthy breakfast, light lunch and a late dinner. The food made available in the dining rooms was excellent. There was something for everyone, and our waiters always steered us away from items they felt were not the best. The food quality is amazing particularly when they are preparing over 20,000 meals a day.
The entertainment was great in all the bars we visited, and I believe we visited them all into the wee hours of the morning.
Our mini suite at the front of the ship had a huge balcony. Our rooms was great, and all that is needed as not much time is spent in the cabin.
On board entertainment
The few shows we saw all were well received by all.
There was a number of comments on the lack of pools on the royal princess. During our few days at sea, we were at the pool all day long, and never was there more than a hand full of people in the pool. There wasn't any issue on our cruise with pool access, and it was hot during these days.
What amazed us most is knowing we were on-board with 3500 other passengers and expecting line ups for everything. Not once did we line up to get on or off the ship, for dinner, or for getting into any of the bars or entertainment venues. Princess has figured out the traffic flows.
