I can only wonder what experience if any "Terrific Holiday" has had cruising. We have travelled with 4 cruise lines, and the Sun Princess was the pits.
In brief, the cabins,( we had a balcony cabin as usual), were the smallest we have had and the bathroom was also undersize. The ship could only travel at 1/2 speed owing to a power problem, that reached a climax when the ship was stationary and adrift a couple of hours out of Port Klang en route to Penang in the middle of the night. Then after spewing out heaps of black foul smelling diesel gunk for maybe 30 mins, we began to move slowly again. Why did 2 vessels hove to near us?. No word from the crew the next day to explain.
The toilets were out of commission for a couple of hours one day, then about 15 min that we know of the next. At least 1 lift was O.O.C. all the time.
We had to miss out visit to Bali, as traveling at 1/2 speed we had to save time. We were given a $150 compensation to be spent only on the ship. Big deal at their profit margins.
The food was poor quality, and even the effort to put labels on the dishes and sauces in the buffet was usually too much for them. As an example, my wife who loves Beef Wellington, could not eat it. We only ate in the restaurant twice, as the meals necessitated a visit to the buffet after. The options were poor, as well as boringly the same. One report I read was about the Leatherjacket fish. After spending a number of years scuba diving and spear fishing, there is no way anyone I know would catch them let alone eat it. Doubt that even a cat would touch it.
Service was good but ruined by the likes of the above examples.
Guess we will leave it at that. Would we travel with princess line again. No way. RCL for us.
