This was my first "Carnival" cruise. My first cruise was in 1969 and I have not kept score of the number
Must admit I selected it due to dates and price, I have travelled on cargo ships, ocean lines, cruise-ferries, deck passenger on a pilgrim ship on a back-packing touring of the world and worked onboard 3 cruise ships for a number of years as one of those dreaded photographers.I understand people have different expectation on a "cruise, and can only share my experience.
Enbarkation was chaotic, with 3006 passengers on lower berth plus it appears thousands of children their organization left a bit to be desired. Once onboard our cabin was read. Very happy with the inside cabin, spacious compared with other cruises I have taken in the past, being recently refurbished it was excellent. Good storage space and having terrytowel bath roles was nice. My only criticism was the television stations, plenty of sel-sell-sell, the two movie channels offered 2 direct movies each day, repeating every 3 or 4 days. No menu was provided when each movie would be show. Checked with Guest services and they said that they repeated every 3 hours. Nice if their was a menu showing this on the TV. The Cruise director was good, however should really be called a Sales Director as appears 10% of his announcements was about onboard entertainment and 90% about what you could buy onboard.
Cabin 9160 on the Lido deck forward. Very happy with the inside cabin, spacious compared with other cruises I have taken in the past, being recently refurbished it was excellent. Good storage space and having terrytowel bath roles was nice.
