Returning 5x Princess cruiser. Got a two week out last minute deal for an inside cabin for price of $65 per day per person which is a real deal-on the surface. Itinerary was great-9 days of stops-3 USA and 6 Canada.

Embarking was easy and efficient. Ship is large and clean. Decorated nicely. Three outside pools with no covers for inclement weather. Food was the very big disappointment. General quality is down. For example cheese on buffet line is like processed American cheese. Same three varieties every day. Most hot food was not kept or served hot. Taste detractor and potential food safety risk. Asked attendant to take temperature of our soup that measured 120 F; should have been 135 or ideally 165 so by the time you get to your table it is still hot. In dining room ordered short ribs. Very familiar with this product served in other venues. Mine is was floating in 1/2" of pure liquid fat. Crew is very nice but no excuse for poor preparation. Cabins are adequate. Our pillow cases had holes in them which should never have happened. Found candy wrapper and golf ball size stones under our bed;sign of poor attention to detail.

Entertainment has been shortened to 30 minutes instead of close to 1 hour segments. For some entertainment on this ship 30 minutes was too much; for most not enough. Cruise director was weak on information and generally a dud compared to other cruise directors. Every show or group appearance emcees demands that everyone have fun and what a great thing Princess is. Too much over the top coercive marketing. Shore excursions are expensive; you can get much better deals on your own at the port.

Cabin Review

Cabin is great if you like dark and quiet. I do. Best value.
