My partner and I just finished sailing on the beautiful Celebrity Reflection. This was our second time on this ship and our third cruise with Celebrity. We have become Celebrity loyalists since our first cruise and plan to continue with them due to the excellent service, great food and (extremely important to us) drink package.
We stayed in a Concierge Class cabin in order to get the extra point for Captain's Club. The ports of call were Santorini, Istanbul (overnight), Ephesus, Mykonos, Athens and Naples.
For those of you who have not sailed on any of Celebrity's "S"Class ships it is important to know that they don't resemble classic cruise ships on the interior. They are designed like a luxury hotel. Sleek lines and clean finishes are what you see throughout the entire ship.
The service is why we choose to sail on Celebrity. We have never had a bad experience on the ship and any minor problems we may have had are always quickly resolved. We always find our favorite bar spots and the bartenders remember us quickly (and our drink order). If you are going to be on the Reflection anytime soon you MUST visit Ricardo, Agus and Hector at the Martini bar. Not only are they great bartenders but their quirky personalities and their friendly attitudes will keep you there all night, every night.
Cellar Masters is a "Wine Bar" on the ship. It is important to note that your drink package is NOT included in this package. While I loved the selection of wines and the quite atmosphere inside Cellar Masters it is slightly annoying that you must purchase a separate card (cannot use your seapass card) to pay for the wine. You must purchase it in denominations of either $50 or 100, etc. We chose $100. I must say, however, the head of Cellar Master's is a gentleman by the name of Yovan. Yovan is extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the wines. It is apparent he takes GREAT pride in his bar and was always very nice to us, greeted us every time we walked in and said goodbye every time we stepped out.
I liked the entertainment on the ship. It is not extreme Vegas style entertainment by the last show on the ship was excellent and events such as "Dancing with the Stripes" (their take on dancing with the stars but with ship's officers) and the live music throughout the ship was definitely great. We never heard a musician that we did not like on the ship.
The ship just turned 1 year old and still looks brand new. There are a few items on the ship that need to be tended to. We were on the 10th floor of the ship but we noticed the deck railings on floors 6 and below were starting to show significant deterioration from the salt water. I imagine this will be attended to soon as the rest of the ship still looks and smells brand new.
Reflection's specialty restaurants are amazing. We've been to all of them in the past but this time we chose Tuscan Grill for a Wine Pairing Dinner (this was $95pp and was amazing. We are very happy we did it). We also went to Murano which is a French restaurant on the ship. Service and food were top notch. We will definitely visit it again the next time sail.
We had select dinning so we tended to have different waiters every night. Our service and the food in the main dinning room was always top notch, no complaints.
Last but not least I must comment on the ports! All were beautiful. We had cold weather in Istanbul but oh well, there is nothing the ship can do about that! Santorini and Mykonos were especially gorgeous. We did not spend anytime in Naples but instead opted to take a ferry to the island of Capri for lunch. This was an absolutely beautiful site and a great way to spend the last day of the cruise.
Next this ship is sailing to the Caribbean. For any of you considering the Reflection I highly recommend it. It is a much more laid back crowd than say your Royal Caribbean ships but the service, the quality and the quality of the guests around you cannot be beat.
