The four of us flew the day before our October 18th departure from Sacramento to NYC. We all flew Frontier airlines and I have to say its a nice little airline if you ever get the chance. We stayed at a Holiday Inn the night before (not pre cruise arranged) on 57th street in NYC. The afternoon of embarkation we took a taxi to Pier 90 in Manhattan. Embarkation was a snap we were all checked in and in our rooms with 20 minutes. The ship was as we remembered six years ago on a cruise to Mexico. Very clean, sleek everything in place.
Our cabin steward Ariel had just joined the cruise that day and throughout the cruise tended to us very well and was very attentive. Room service staff was equally attentive.
This was our 10th cruise on Princess but the first cruise that we decided to leave the formal clothes at home. Figured we don't wear them during the year why wear them on vacation. I thought this would exclude us from the dining room on formal nights but our waiter said it was no problem. The food on the cruise was as always very good. Mostly dined in Horizon Court for breakfast and most dinners in the dining room. There was only one night that we decided against eating in the dining room due to the menu selections. Had dinner one night at Sterlings which was good but waited a very long time for dinner. Also ate a Pizza place a couple of times.
