Ship Facts: Celebrity Eclipse Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Celebrity Eclipse Deck Plans

This was the first time we had sailed with Celebrity Cruises and what an experience. This was the 6th cruise in 3 years and it surpassed all the others..

We arrived at Southampton at 11.05 and were on board by 11.30. Never had it so quick. the organisation was speedy, friendly and first class. We are advised at 1.30pm that our stateroom was ready, we were on deck 12 in Concierge class. The only downside of this was the fact that stateroom was under the Ocean View restaurant. This did not matter during the day as no noise was heard but in the middle of the night and also about 6am there was noise from things being dropped and chairs being moved by the staff. If you travel on this deck make sure you are opposite end of ship.

The service and food in the main dining room, the Moonlight Sonata, was first class, we could not fault it. We decided it was not necessary to pay extra in the Speciality Restaurants as the food was so good. Breakfast and lunch in Ocean View was very good with a good selection and good service. Despite the number of passengers we always found a table.

The main evening entertainment in the Eclipse Theatre was of a very high standard, apart from a very good string trio which played in various different areas we did not go to any other of the entertainments.

My Wife enjoyed the Painting Classes. I enjoyed the cookery demonstrations.

The shore excursions were on the whole good but probably on a future cruise visiting main cities I would use the local Hop on and Off buses.

Disembarkation was smooth and relatively quick, although there being only one gangway at Southampton there were queues.

Will we travel with Celebrity again? Definitely if the price is right.
