With the expectation of "White Glove Service" ..... different areas caused concern and did not measure up !!
The light inside the cabin door did not work.... so difficulty was experienced seeing in the wardrobe!
Then wardrobe handle fell off !! .a screw was missing.
The hand raill above the toilet fell off while the toilet was unflushed and the items on the rail fell in ! It appeared the rail had been cut too short for the brackets.
The wash hand basin tap handle came off !! .... It appeared the retaining screw was missing.
The TV was located in a position that made it difficult to be seen by the person in a double bed furthest away.
The Cabin maid used her key to open our cabin door while we were in it ...without knocking...allowing entry
by a stranger at a time when we were changing !!
THE BUFFETT DINER....
We have travelled several times with Royal Caribbean and rather like what the Americans call lemonade.
We found all of the ( help yourself) glasses had dirty stains on them. We quietly drew a nearby waiters attention to this...rather than make a fuss. Next time we visited again it was the same...so again we quietly drew the attention of the waiter !! After the fourth time ...we made an official complaint.
On most of the numerous cruise ships the staff make you feel at home.
We noticed several waiters hovering around a work station and when another overly busy waiter asked politely for assistance the reaction was disgusting...and then ignored !!!
One of our real cruising enjoyments is meeting interesting people all with a story to tell ....from all around the world . The fixed table dining regimen on this ship denied this pleasure !!
The number of fixed formal attire dining was unnecessary and for retirees who have worn suites throughout
their working lives ... surely smart casual is more relaxing .
Perhaps this ship is designed for factory workers or trades persons who enjoy having a rare occassion to dress-up! (My intention is not to be disparaging against such enjoyment)
If one was enjoying relaxing, engrossed in the view ( in the forward lounge) or interesting conversation and inadvertently overlooked the time changing the location into a more formal nominated area ... we were in an unfriendly officious manner reprmanded by staff !!!
The same abrupt manner was experienced when wearing an expensive jacket on a nominated smart casual dining evening. ........Surely staff training should ensure the ship crew the politely and quietly draw attention to any perceived problem !!
YES .....We did make constructive suggestions at the completion of our trip.........(as most of us from business strive for continuos improvement) ... but no acknowledgement nor response has been received from Cunard.
WILL WE VENTURE WITH THEM AGAIN ???? .......I DOUBT IT VERY MUCH !
